Nominated Supervisor/ Educational Leader

I began my teaching career at Gum Nut Gully Pre-school back in 1999 after graduating from the University of Melbourne. It was with great pleasure that I rejoined the team at GNG in 2016 after seeing my youngest child off to school.

I like to view each child as competent, capable, creative, resourceful and resilient and enjoy helping children to strive for all they are capable of being. I believe in the value of play-based learning and develop programs that are flexible and responsive to children’s current interests and passions. I also enjoy working collaboratively with parents to reach common goals for the children.

In 2018 I took on the role of Nominated Supervisor and Educational Leader and was honoured to be able to lead such a passionate team of educators strive to build inspiring educational programs for the children in our care for many years to come.

Co-Educator

I am currently working with the Lorikeet Group as a Co Educator and hold a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care. I have been at Gum Nut Gully Preschool since 2018 and absolutely love being part of the teaching team here and this wonderful Gum Nut Gully community!

I believe that my role as an early childhood educator is to build trusting and secure relationships with children and their families and create a safe and warm environment where children are encouraged to learn, grow and develop through play.

Personally, I live locally with my husband and we have 3 adult children . We have also been blessed with beautiful grandson (4 yrs) and a beautiful granddaughter (2 yrs). As a nanna this keeps me pretty busy when I am not at kinder! Apart from my love of family my other interests include our two Labrador dogs, cooking, gardening and scrapbooking.

Educator

I started my teaching journey in 2016 after I graduated with a Bachelor of Early Childhood Education from Deakin University. Over the years I have worked in a range of settings, teaching both three and four year old Kindergarten.

I joined the team at Gum Nut Gully Preschool in 2019 working as one of the four-year-old teachers. It is a joy to teach at Gum Nut Gully and work amongst a team of wonderful, passionate Educators. We are so lucky to work in such a beautiful bush setting and I especially enjoy running our Bush Kinder program with the four-year-old group.

It is a privilege to be part of a child’s preschool journey and to work together with families to help their children grow, learn and flourish.

Co-Educator

I have been part of Gum Nut Gully Preschool since 1997. I have a certificate 111 in Children’s Services and am currently working as Co Educator in the Honeyeaters group.

Over the years I have had the privilege of nurturing, supporting and getting to know so many amazing children and their families.

Every child is unique and as Co Educator, I am passionate about creating a welcoming, respectful, fun, inclusive and supportive learning environment, where children can learn at their own pace.

And my reward is knowing, I had a part in supporting the children grow and develop into confident little people.

Educator

I completed my Bachelor of Early Childhood studies at the University of Melbourne in 1996.

I have taught in many differing early childhood environments, ranging from long day care and sessional kindergartens within Australia and the United Kingdom.

I strongly believe in the importance of a play based program and treat each child individually to cater for their strengths and needs. I realise the value of working alongside families and like to ensure that each child feels valued, supported and  a sense of belonging to kinder.

It is my pleasure to observe the 3 year olds transition throughout the year into competent and involved learners. I am thrilled to be part of the Gum Nut Gully team.
