EARLY LEARNING FRAMEWORK

early learning framework pic.JPG

The 3 and 4 year old programs we teach at Gum Nut Gully are based on sound principles of child development and education, following the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework.

As well as this, kindergartens are assessed against 7 areas in the National Quality Framework, and our current overall rating at Gum Nut Gully is "Exceeding".

The essential components of the programs are to provide rewarding and enjoyable experiences where your children play, explore, discover, rehearse, practice, build positive relationships and revise concepts as they consolidate and adjust their understandings. In addition, we aim to involve families and children in a partnership where knowledge, interests and needs are shared.

Our Go for your Life program includes the following ideals and activities:

  • Tap into water

  • Grow (and use) fresh fruit and vegetables in snack boxes

  • Limit occasional foods

  • Move and play

  • Be active and healthy

THE EARLY YEARS
LEARNING FRAMEWORK

Belonging is the basis for living a fulfilling life. Children feel they belong because of relationships they have with their family, community, culture and place.

Being is about living here and now. Childhood is a special time when the children need time to be children, to play, try new things and have fun.

Becoming is about the learning and development that young children experience. Children start to form their sense of identity and shape the type of adult they will become.
